Principality Sports Competitors!

Hutt River Dedication Cricket Club

HRH Prince Leonard is proud to announce
the inclusion of the
Hutt River Dedication Cricket Club
to the Sports Section of the Principality website.

Royal Hutt River Dedication is the national cricket team of the Principality of Hutt River.
The team plays annually in the Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships
held in Mildura, Victoria in December each year.

The Club was originally formed in late 2005 as the Dedication Cricket Club and is located in Mildura, Victoria, by students of the Mildura Senior College. The team formed so as to compete in the yearly Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships which are held annually in Mildura from the 27th to the 30th of December.

For three years the Dedication Club competed as a stand-alone club, before HRH Prince Leonard proudly Commissioned the team to represent the Principality in February 2008 at which time the club changed it's name to the Royal Hutt River Dedication Cricket Club.

The RHRDDCC has competed and represented this Principality admirably for the last 5 seasons of competition.
The team and all of us here in the Principality eagerly look forward to the sixth year representing the Principality
in the 2013 Willowfest Tournament.

CONGRATULATIONS!

HRH Prince Leonard is proud to learn and announce of the achievement of the Royal Hutt River Dedication Cricket Club Captain Sir Geoffrey Pascoe KSOL., CIOM. in recently having been awarded the Australian State of Victoria's "Rhodes Scholarship for 2012"!

This is a great achievement for Sir Geoff who should be most proud of such an award.
Unfortunately for the PHR it means that Sir Geoff will not be available to lead out the team onto the field to compete in this years 2012 Willowfest Tournament as he will be on an aircraft winging his way to the UK where he is to take up his scholarship studies to attain his DPhil (PhD) in Engineering Science at the prestigious Oxford University where he will be working on developing self-driving cars. Sir Geoff will be studying at Oxfords mobile robotics group working in robotics and machine learning required to develop automated transportation.

The Rhodes Scholarship is an award for postgraduate study at Oxford.
The criteria for selection are Academic Merit, Leadership Ability, Concern for Others and Sporting Achievement.
In Australia there is one available per State per year.

CONGRATULATIONS SIR GEOFF!
