HRH Prince Leonard is proud to announce his acceptance of the application for Overseas Citizenship of:
Miss Julia Galvin
from the Republic of Ireland. |

Miss Galvin recently travelled all the way to Nain from her home in Ireland,
having last year contacted HRH Prince Leonard offering to represent this
Principality in her chosen sports. HRH readily agreed to this fine honour
and offered to accept Miss Galvin as an honoured Overseas Citizen of the
Principality and rather than proceed by mail Miss Galvin decided that she
would attend Nain in Person to receive her certificate and Passport etc
and of course to receive her Royal Commission to represent this
Principality in World Championship events wherever they may be held. A small Ceremony was held in Nain in the company of a journalist and photographer from the Geraldton Guardian Newspaper, as well as others, where Miss Galvin proudly received her paperwork and appointment etc. Miss Galvin was also presented with a full size Principality flag that she will now take with her to all events where she will see that it is flown and should her fine skills remain with her then many will see the Principality Flag waving above the winners dais. By the way, Miss Galvin is a World Champion "Bog Snorkeller", competes in "Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling" and is also world renowned for her exploits in the finer skills involved in the "Wife Carrying Championships" held yearly in Finland, though again, Julia competes around the world wherever the competitions may lead her! and will now compete as a Representative of the Principality of Hutt River Her story is in fact an inspirational one and I leave some of that and more of the story to the professionals. Below, click on the article to receive the larger version and read what Reporter Josh Burrows wrote about Julia, that was published in the Geraldton Guardian Newspaper! Julia competes in both of her chosen sports all around the globe and is currently completing her tour of competitions throughout Australia. May 2nd 2009 sees Julia competing in the Australian Wife Carrying Titles
where she will be raising money for the Children's Cancer Institute of
Australia. Miss Galvin will head home to Ireland shortly after this last
competition entry in Australia. We at PHR are proud to have Julia representing us and will certainly be reporting on her exploits!
