	PHR - Xmas Tree Throwing! 2013 Competition
		The second annual xmas tree throwing contest organised by Ennis Town Council and County Clare Council was held on January 05th 2013 and once again the PHR was represented in this formidable feat of strength by none other than the Dame of Novelty Sports, Dame Julia Galvin DSOL. Only a few days into 2013 and already the PHR is on the sporting calendar with a second place in the Ladies Section of the 2013 Irish Championships of the Xmas Tree Throwing Competition having been achieved by Dame Julia with her great throw recorded at 5m 80cm. The Irish distance record set at the inaugural Irish xmas tree throwing competition in 2012 was 7M so certainly a grand effort by our Dame. Funds raised from this years competition will go to the Clare branch of Cystic Fibrosis where all money raised will be invested locally in the delivery of services, which include sponsoring the purchase of exercise equipment for persons with Cystic Fibrosis, counseling and support services and providing taxi services to and from the hospital.
