The Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery, in conjunction with the Loyal Train of Artillery Chapter of the United States Field Artillery Association, has produced a number of training manuals to ensure that its artillerists are well trained in the proper drill and deployment of ceremonial artillery.  These training manuals form the core curriculum of the  of the Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery, which includes the School of the Piece and School of the Battery.  The Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery has also produced a curriculum related to the training and certification of ceremonial artillery instructors.

In addition to its ceremonial and humanitarian responsibilities, the Royal Hutt River Defence Forces (RHRDF) are involved in educational activities around the world. In 2005, the Royal Hutt River School of Artillery was formed as part of the Royal Hutt River Army Artillery to teach the proper drill and deployment of ceremonial artillery.

The Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery is dedicated to teaching the drill, safety procedures, commands, equipment, and range management for muzzle loading artillery. The instructors of The Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery are dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and safety of muzzle loading artillery. The Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery teaches a Basic Course (The School of the Piece), an Advanced Course (The School of the Battery), as well as the Instructors Certification course.

The Basic Course of Instruction:
The Basic Course of Instruction on the Drill, Safety, and Operation of Muzzle Loading Artillery is also referred to as The School of the Piece. This course is designed to teach the procedures for each position of a cannon crew.

The Advanced Course of Instruction:
The Advanced Course of Instruction on the Drill, Safety, and Operation of Muzzle Loading Artillery is also referred to as The School of the Battery. This course is designed for Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers who will command sections and batteries.

The Instructors Certification Course of Instruction:
The Instructors Certification Course of Instruction on the Drill, Safety, and Operation of Muzzle Loading Artillery is only open to those serious students who have the desire and capacity to teach the various programs offered by this School.

Not everyone attending the Certified Instructors Course of Instruction on the Drill, Safety, and Operation of Muzzle Loading Artillery will receive Certification. This is not a sign of failure, but, rather, a sign of how seriously the School takes its responsibilities for teaching and preserving the safety of Muzzle Loading Artillery.

TRAINING MANUALS AVAILABLE FROM THE ROYAL SCHOOL OF ARTILLERY

A number of Muzzle-Loading Artillery Manuals have been produced in a joint effort by the Loyal Train of Artillery Chapter of the United States Field Artillery Association (LTAC-USFAA) and the Royal Hutt River Military College - School of Artillery (RHRMC-SOA).  The Muzzle-Loading Artillery Manual Series is for Reenactors, Ceremonial Artillerists, and anyone interested in understanding Muzzle-Loading Artillery.

This textbook for Muzzle Loading Artillerists is for the School of the Piece and contains the muzzle-loading drills for Field Artillery (Full Scale and Mountain Howitzers), Mortars, Naval Artillery and Heavy Artillery.  It also contains the Muzzle-Loading Field Artillery Safety Rules and Procedures.

Muzzle-Loading Artillery Primer: Muzzle-Loading Artillery Series Volume 2:
This textbook for Muzzle Loading Artillerists is for the School of the Battery and contains advanced information on muzzle-loading artillery, including the composition of a battery, ordnance used during the War Between the States, the nomenclature of artillery and cannon carriages, strategies for artillery deployment, and a lexicon of artillery terms.

Muzzle-Loading Artillery Instructors Manual: Muzzle-Loading Artillery Series Volume 3:
This textbook for Muzzle Loading Artillerists is for the Instructors Certification Course and contains information about how to teach the School of the Piece and the School of the Battery, as well as information needed for those students attempting to earn their muzzle-loading teaching certification.

Muzzle Loading Artillery Testing and Certifications Manual: Muzzle-Loading Artillery Series Volume 4:
This textbook for Muzzle Loading Artillery Instructors contains information about how to test students of the School of the Piece and the School of the Battery on their knowledge of the materials covered during the schools, as well as how to evaluate student performance in the Instructor Certification Course.
